Don't eat racist chicken.

I have placed pickup orders from Lucy's a few times in the past couple of years. When I have gone to pick up these orders, I tell them my first name, and they hand me my food. I have never been asked to present my phone, ID, the card I paid with online, or even my order number.

Last night, I placed a pickup order online, and my friend went to pick it up 20 minutes later. I sent him a screenshot with our order confirmation number, just in case. The employees were extremely rude to and suspicious of him when he said he was there to pick up an order for [my name]- which is ambiguous and could belong to any gender (it's not Bev). They asked to see the screenshot of our order, told him that wasn't acceptable, asked twice if he was a confused delivery driver, said they'd had "an issue with people stealing food lately", and refused to give him our order (that we had already paid and tipped for). I called the restaurant while he was in there, and after the snarky employee who answered asked "how were we supposed to know he was the right person" (maybe the name, confirmation #, etc...), she finally handed our food over. If you haven't deduced this yet, I am white, and my friend is black.

Bye, Lucy's. Your food is certainly not good enough to get past how you treat people.

PSA: The best hair stylist in Chicago has moved to the Roscoe Village XO.

Making an appointment to see Josh just got even better. Not only is the new space in a great location, with an abundance of cute bars/shops and free street parking in every direction, but the salon itself is gorgeous! The people were friendly, the jams playing while i got styled were tight, and the whole aesthetic was on point.

But obviously the only selling point you need to know about is Josh himself. He knows that I won't be blow drying, applying product, or otherwise styling my hair once I leave, and I always end up with cuts that somehow air dry and fall into place perfectly with absolutely zero effort on my part. That is a feat!

I left yesterday evening with a gorgeous, espresso-colored mane, some awesome smelling R+Co conditioner, and a little extra pep in my step from lookin so fly. Thanks, Josh!

My first time using movers, and Move-tastic made it easy. Got an estimate online for 4 dudes at 3-4 hours. Anthony, Sherman, Karl, and David were so efficient that they got it done in 3 hours, and our final price came out to about $100 less than the high end of the estimate.

Everyone on the crew was exceptionally nice and professional. My only reason for knocking off a star is my elliptical: I made sure to ask when i was getting the estimate if the machine would be taken apart and reassembled by the movers, and was assured it would. I even left out the instruction manual and a wrench, but they ended up just hauling it as-is down to the truck. Not a huge deal, but there is now a big piece broken on it...fingers crossed I can fix it myself and forget about it, because these guys were otherwise great!

Master Stylist Josh has been taming my mane for years. After another fabulous cut last night, i had to gush about the new space a bit. XO is clean, modern and stylish. Plus the big open windows looking onto Broadway provide all the entertainment you need while you're getting beautified!

And for those who don't know, Josh is the best hair stylist around. My hair is super thick and long, but i don't own a blow dryer and hate using products (i know). Only Josh has been able to give me cut after cut that lets my hair air dry into perfect waves! And the highlights he did 5 months ago have grown out/blended so well that i still get compliments on them!
