This is an amazing little cafe - small in size but big in flavors. I first encountered it as part of a food tour and went back for the tamales. The rice and beans, black beans in plantain leaf, and sweet corn tamale are unbelievably yummy. I got three tamales to share with my partner for breakfast and they were more than filling.
I wish I had had time to try all the other dishes on the menu. The cafe provides an opportunity to support a local sister and brother business that celebrates Yucatan cuisine.

We were very happy to find this restaurant on Monday night when most places were closed in Roma neighborhood, where we were staying. This is an upbeat energetic restaurant! None of the people in our group spoke Spanish and we really appreciated the help - throughout our dinner - of an English speaking staff member whose name I neglected to ask.
One of the online lists rated this place among the top ten bars in CDMX so I was disappointed when one of the margaritas arrived quite weak. When I mentioned this our waitperson immediately took it away and brought back a fresh one but it was not much of an improvement.
My cocktail with Mezcal was also lacked the level of mezcal I expected and was a bit too sweet for my tastes.
For appetizers, the roasted cauliflower was AMAZING. This is a must try. The Cesar Salad was made tableside with a lot of ceremony and did not fail to please.
We tried two entrees, red snapper and fish cooked in salt. The latter was pricey at 850 pesos and it would have been helpful for the staff to point out that it's an enormous quantity of fish even for two people. That said, the fish arrived caked in salt and the dressing of it, table-side, was skillful and amazing. The fish was succulent and sweet to taste. We carried back most of it and it made for a good meal the following day.
      The desserts were okay.
Service was EXCELLENT, we were made to feel very welcome and overall, we had a good experience.
The prices were however a lot higher than our other dinners in the Roma neighborhood. This was the only restaurant we tried in Polanco and the cost may be appropriate for the neighborhood.

I found Adel through a Yelp search. I contacted 3 companies and she was the first to respond. My first phone conversation with Adel was enough to tell me she was responsive to my needs, thorough, and affordable. She staged an empty condo and did it up really well. She was accommodating and listened to my requests. And her charges were very affordable.

It was so satisfying to work with Adel that I recommended her for a set design job for a music video I was working on with my husband. Again, Adel heard our needs, took our budget into consideration, asked questions, and made an abstract concept visible with her creativity and design skills.

I just recommended Adel to another friend who needs help with interior decor for his condo.

      Highly recommend Adel.

The place is really cute, and had live music the day we visited for dinner. We were not too hungry, and needed to eat a little more food to feel like we'd had dinner.
Our server was welcoming and friendly. The complimentary chips with salsas was so good I had to stop myself from gorging on it - each of the salsas was flavorful and balanced.
I ordered the especiales mezcal, which was okay. I got the avocados stuffed with shrimp while my husband got the special fried flour tortilla with shrimp filling.
The shrimp filling in the avocado was slathered with mayo, and sweetish - not at all what I expected at a Mexican restaurant. The shrimp was pretty tasteless. The taco seemed to have the same filling.
Maybe the other items on the menu are more authentic than what we tried but we ended up disappointed for the high ratings this place has.

Our target restaurant was closed, we were really hungry and Rincon was right there so we decided to get lunch there.
Our server was friendly and helped us understand the menu items.
The two soups we ordered were really good - tortilla soup with avocados and chicken and rice in chicken broth. My husband got the enchiladas in a green sauce - it was more tart than expected. I got the vegetables with rice and beans. The rice contained broccoli and carrots but had a strange soapy flavor The beans were so-so.
Overall, this is a good place for Mexican food at very good prices. I would go back to try other dishes on the menu.
